A Pensacola, Fla., man convicted of sexual battery of a child has been indicted for moving to Orange Beach without notifying authorities of his new legal residence.
Samuel Earl Pleasant, 31, allegedly moved to a Canal Road residence Oct. 12, without contacting Orange Beach police or the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. Pleasant was previously convicted in Escambia County, Fla., Circuit Court on a sexual battery charge involving a child under age 13

Baldwin County District Attorney Judy Newcomb last week took one last shot at the woman who defeated her in the Republican primary this past summer.
Asked by a reporter following the split verdict at former Mobile County Commissioner Stephen Nodine’s recent murder trial about the absence of incoming DA Hallie Dixon, Newcomb responded, “It is a little concerning.”

The man accused of throwing a street sign through a car, killing the driver, is out on bond. Police are now investigating a similar incident in the area as the deadly attack.
Josh Graham says a trip to the video store in Foley this weekend turned into a terrifying ordeal for his 16-year-old brother. According to Graham, someone attacked the teenager in the parking lot.
“My little brother had called me. He was upset, because some guy had pulled in front of his vehicle and got out and was actually hitting the truck with a pipe,” Graham said.

According to Alabama State Troopers, they received a wreck call early Saturday morning on County Road 55 at Magnolia School in Foley. That’s where Troopers found the driver of a 1999 green Ford Mustang dead. A preliminary investigation proved that the death was not caused by a wreck, but was a homicide. That’s when the Alabama Bureau of Investigation was called in.
Investigators determined that a street sign was thrown through the front windshield of the car – striking the driver in the head. Investigators have not been able to identify the victim, but describe the victim as a 22 year-old Hispanic male.

A convicted sex offender had to be subdued with a Taser this weekend after the U.S. Marshals Service and the Clarke County Sheriffs Office located him in Foley during a three day compliance check of sex offender registrations.
Lederrick Andwan Chapman, 28, was charged with failing to register as a sex offender and violating his probation.

On September 16, 2009 members of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force conducted a consensual search at a residence on Wilson Road in Elberta. The Task Force received information that a possible “Meth Lab” was being utilized at that location.
Two adults were arrested, male Jason James DOB 11-07-73 and a female, Cathleen Moore, DOB 9 -17-71 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia an additional charge of child endangerment by chemical/ Drug exposure was placed on both subjects.

Foley police are searching for a woman who ran from a grocery store parking lot after the man she tried to hold up at gunpoint refused to give her money. The incident took place at about 4:30 p.m. today outside the Winn Dixie store on U.S. 98, said Lt. David White, chief Foley investigator.

Deputies say a prank phone call in Baldwin County ended with an 18 year old facing charges of rape.
Baldwin County Deputies say David Wayne McCarn II, 18, was charged with rape after making a prank phone call that would change his life.
It all started Thursday night inside this trailer in the Whitehouse Forks community of Bay Minette. Deputies say McCarn dialed 911 and told dispatch to head to the north part of county in the area of Lymon Lane and Byrnes Lake Road becayse was shooting. He told 911 dispatch they’d find a body in someone’s front yard. He gave a numerical, 39511, and hung up.

Police are requesting help from the public in identifying 2 subjects wanted in connection with the the use of a stolen credit card last month.
The credit card was stolen from a Daphne business, then later it was used Aug. 25 at a Mobile retail store to purchase a PlayStation 3 video gaming system, according to a news release. Daphne police are investigating the credit card theft.

28-year-old Foley man is being held in Baldwin County jail today, accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl last weekend in Summerdale, police said.
Robert Deon Ferguson was being held at the Baldwin County Corrections Center in Bay Minette on $25,000 bail, according to records.

A man wanted for questioning for a stabbing in Elberta Tuesday has been arrested by Baldwin County authorities.
Jarred Stewart is charged with assault.
Police say two people were injured in the incident. One of the injured parties was flown to the hospital with stab wounds.

A 16-year-old and 18-year-old were arrested shortly after midnight on Saturday for allegedly breaking into businesses on East Laurel Avenue
Lt. David White, lead investigator for Foley Police Department, said Joshua Imel, the 18 -year-old, and a juvenile male were arrested following a call about two people standing on the back porch of a business that was closed.
White said the call to FPD came from a subject who lives in the area where the break-ins occurred.
