The summer tourist season has started at the beaches, and if you haven’t noticed by the amount of traffic in the Bay area, hundreds of people are in town for Memorial Day Weekend.
With a bright shining sun, clear skies, and hot sand, many people spent Saturday on the beach. People came from all over the country to enjoy the three day weekend. With tourists, comes traffic.
Traffic was backed up for miles on I10 eastbound and Highway 59. For a portion of the day, Bankhead tunnel was closed forcing local traffic and travelers to use the Wallace Tunnel.
