Ross Dress For Less has leased 22,500 square feet of space in Foley Square off Ala. 59 and Pride Drive in Foley, adjacent to the center’s anchor store, Academy Sports Outdoors, according to Josh Burmeister and Buff Teague of JLL, who represented the landlord. Ross Dress For Less sells brand-name clothing, shoes, accessories and housewares at discount prices. Construction on the store space will begin in August. Academy Sports opened its new 62,000-square-foot store last week.
The MR/DD Board paid $80,000 for a lot on U.S. 90 in Robertsdale, and plan to build an office there, according to Joe Steen Real Estate & Development. The board provides services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
ProHealth, which provides home health services, has leased 1,300-square-foot office at 105 Lottie Lane in Fairhope, and will open next month,according to Joe Steen Real Estate & Development.
Stirling Properties has been hired as the new leasing and sales agency for Spanish Fort Town Center off Interstate 10 and U.S. 98 in Spanish Fort, according to Stirling’s Angela McArthur and Jeff Barnes, who will handle leasing at the center. The 447,748-square-foot mixed use development on 230 acres is anchored by Bass Pro Shops, JC Penney and Kohl’s. The first step in revamping the center will be the opening of a new community park on 3.5 acres near JC Penney, according to McArthur. The park will open in June and feature a splash pad, children’s park and an outdoor exercise area.
Ron Jon Surf Shop will open later this month and will be the first business to open in Amber Isle at 22753 Perdido Beach Blvd., in Orange Beach, according to store officials. The 7,300-square-foot store will eventually be joined by the Wing Shack, Hotel Indigo and White Sands Resort hotel.
A local builder paid $80,000 for 4.3 bank-owned acres on Perdido Beach Boulevard in Orange Beach adjacent to Gulf State Park, according to Pratt Thomas of Merrill P.Thomas Co., who represented the bank. The property is across the street from the Gulf and has 1.5 acres of wetlands, he said. The developers owed more than $1 million on the land when they gave it back to the bank several years ago. At one time a condo project, Romar Villas, was planned for the property.The buyer, Jeff Patterson, is looking to build a road over that acreage, according to Thomas. Perry Mason of Avast Realty worked for the buyer.
