That change is eliminating the late card system. Instead, starting on July 1, customers will get 20 days to pay off their utility bill. It’s an increase of six days over the current policy of 14 days.
But what were to happen if a customer is still late, say for the July bill?
“On that bill, your August 1 bill, you would receive information regarding if you’re past due, the past due amount, the late charge, and then also your new bill amount would be on there too,” McDaniel said.
