U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne said he believes last month’s defeat of a property tax referendum to support the Baldwin County School System is “the beginning in a long process” he believes needs to result in school expansion.

Bryne, R-Fairhope, said he voted “Yes” on the March 31 ballot asking voters to support 8 new mills of property to help raise enough revenue for a 10-year, $350 million expansion project and for the renewal of 7 mills of existing property tax.
