On this day in Gulf Shores we didn’t find any tar balls, just the white, sugary sand Alabama beaches are known for. That’s quite a contrast to what clean up crews came across the days after explosion five years ago.
Five years ago, it seemed there was something that needed to picked up every few feet, the black stuff coming in all sizes and shapes.
“It (the oil spill) did cross my mind,” said Doyle Cooper.
