Bay Minette parents hold kids out of elementary school until results of recent asbestos and mold tests come back

Some parents of students at Bay Minette Elementary School are making good on promises they would keep their children home until the school is certified safe from asbestos.

According to Michael Ivey, who has a child in first grade at the school, there are as many as six students who have been kept at home amid concerns for their health. At the Baldwin County school board meeting on April 16, Ivey and others voiced serious concerns about inspection reports they said showed the school was at risk for asbestos exposure.
