Daphne selects lead firm for recreation projects; council to hash out funding, specific park upgrades

The Daphne City Council took its first concrete step this week in solidifying a plan to upgrade it recreational facilities, but how much will be spent and what will be added is still up for debate.

The city solicited and received proposals in January from five local planning and engineering firms aimed at expanding and improving Daphne’s parks. The council received plans from Goodwyn Mills and Cawood, Volkert, Hatch Mott MacDonald, Preble-Rish and Lose & Associates, which partnered with Hutchinson, Moore & Rauch.
