Baldwin County schools advocate plans to speak about ‘facts’ at Baldwin County Commission meetings

Terry Burkle, who’s headed the coalition since 2013, said her appearance during the public comment portion of the meeting – which is televised once every two weeks – was meant to provide factual information about the schools, and to rebut figures presented earlier this month by Baldwin County Commissioner Frank Burt.

Burkle also said the appearance is a prelude of what she says will be many appearances before commissioners as she plans to discuss and present information – financial and otherwise – about the schools.

She said the coalition plans to speak during a public meeting from 7-9 p.m. April 30 in Robertsdale. The meeting is a joint county commission-school board meeting focused on allowing the public to comment about the March 31 referendum that left the Baldwin County School System potentially defunded by $7 million.
