During a tight budget crunch, Baldwin County School Officials say they had to pick up the tab for a $30,000 mold problem, found at Foley Middle School.
The mold was found right before school started and has since been corrected, according to board spokesman Terry Wilhite.

Do you know how to prevent mold in schools? Not firing the janitorial staff.
Also, having a roof put on our school before the contractors put in the dry wall would probably help reduce the mold, too.
Mold is not a new issue, I remember seeing white mold in Fairhope High (the building had foundation issues, resulting in leaks). Daphne High School also had bad mold problems, but as stated by Jeff, the janitors generally cleaned it up. The problem was the cleaning was surfacial in nature and never truly solved the problem.
I wonder if Robertsdale Elementary ever had its roof fixed? New building, New problems!
