Robertsdale man pleaded guilty to child pornography

A Robertsdale man pleaded guilty in Mobile last week to child pornography charges after admitting that he secretly videotaped a nude teenager.

Defense attorney J. Clark Stankoski said the guilty pleas to two federal charges likely mean that Jerry Eugene Bates, who suffers multiple and serious health problems, will die in prison.

Production of child pornography carries a mandatory 15-year prison term, while receiving child pornography carries a five-year mandatory sentence
