Late Tuesday afternoon the Baldwin County School Board voted to cut jobs. Officials say 180 support staff will be cut and some tenured teachers may be laid off. The board will vote on which jobs to cut on Aug. 20. The school system is now facing a $14 million shortfall.
Baldwin County Superintendent Dr. Faron Hollinger had proposed a 1 cent sales tax to help makeup the budget shortfall. Tuesday, he is withdrew that proposal.
