While business is booming at the Wolf Bay Lodge’s new location in Orange Beach, plans to rebuild the restaurant at the original site in Elberta have been put on hold, co-owner Charlene Haber said.
The Wolf Bay Lodge burned in its original location, in the Miflin community in Elberta, in December. The restaurant reopened at Zeke’s Landing Marina in March in what owners said was a temporary move until the lodge could be rebuilt on Wolf Bay. Haber said, however, that possible changes in building designs and demands at the new site have put construction plans on hold.
The loss of the Wolf Bay Lodge building in Miflin hit Elberta sales tax income, said Mayor Marvin Williams.

Have been a LONG time customer of Wolf Bay and have traveled to new location to show support at the new location. But . . . Whatever the difficulties of opening back up in Miflin, I hope they will be vigilant to return.
Probably loosing one local customers business won’t sway their rebuilding, but this customer honestly doesn’t care for the new location.
I love all the staff and I love the food . . . but how can I say this without sounding biased. Lets just say the old location was family oriented. The new location feels more touristy. Its the ambiance provided by the different customer base, without saying something that might hurt others feelings.
Elberta might miss the tax revenue. But the locals really miss Wolf Bay in its old location.
Moved? okay no problem
Prices went up? okay, understandable with loss of restaurant
Have same staff? absolutely one of the biggest reasons in enjoying our food
Food? good, but don’t care for a buffet salad bar
Are we being sold out to the tourists?
I like the salad better at the old location. Just chopped up lettuce. Love location both old and new
Having locations in Orange Beach and Foley is “O.K.,” but your TRUE home is in Elberta! I’ve been dining with you since the 1970s and there’s just no substitute for that magical drive through the woods to your beautiful home by the lake. Please rebuild in Elberta. Come home!
