New fishing pier opens in Gulf Shores

Beginning Thursday, the longest pier on the Gulf of Mexico is in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Gov. Bob Riley was there to cut the ribbon on the new fishing pier at Gulf State Park.

It took nearly five years for fishermen to once again case their poles off the Gulf State Park pier, but Riley says the new pier is going to be something the state of Alabama can take pride in for generations to come.
