Foley man convicted of manslaughter in girlfriend’s shooting death

A Foley man was convicted of manslaughter after a Baldwin County jury determined the shooting of his ex-girlfriend was not accidental.

The jury deliberated for more than eight hours — four Friday afternoon and about 4cm HALF on Monday — before delivering its decision.

Jeffrey Woodrow Kinsey, 28, faces two to 20 years in prison for the crime. The jury rejected the lesser charge of negligent homicide, which would have carried a sentence of one to 10 years in jail. Kinsey was originally charged with capital murder, and the district attorney did not plan to seek the death penalty
