Elberta man sought in daughter’s death picked up in North Carolina

A former Elberta man who hasn’t shown up for his trial on manslaughter charges in connection with the 2003 drowning death of his daughter has been picked up in North Carolina, Baldwin County authorities said.

Jason Woerner, 35, was arrested Wednesday by Charlotte, N.C., police and U.S. marshals at his mother’s home in Charlotte, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.

No date has been set for his return to Baldwin County
