About 67,000 area utility customers will pay more for electricity in March when Baldwin EMC implements a 7.8 percent rate increase.
The increase is the first rate change since January 2005 and the second in 10 years, said Karen Moore, spokeswoman for the Summerdale-based electrical cooperative. The new rates will start March 1.
