It appears that a 2000 International tractor-trailer rig was traveling east when the driver left the roadway, went into the median and jack-knifed the truck. It did not overturn; nor did it catch fire, but a relatively small amount of fuel was spilled.Eastbound traffic was closed completely for about 15 minutes to facilitate debris removal after which one lane was reopened. Both lanes were reopened around 9:00 a.m.
The driver was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital by air ambulance for treatment of what is described as “minor injuries”. The rig, belonging to Dairy Fresh, was carrying dairy products and is believed to have been headed to Pensacola.
