Loxley Police: Officers “acted appropriately” in fatal shooting

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office says four Loxley police officers acted appropriately in the fatal shooting of a bank robbery suspect last Friday.

The shooting happened Friday near the Wilcox Exit on Interstate 10. Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Major Anthony Lowery identified the suspect as 48-year-old Raymond Schaefer of Dulac, Louisana. Lowery says Schaefer walked into the Regions Bank in Malbis, brandished a handgun and demanded money.
