Baldwin County Man describes trying to save slain fiancée

When Walter “Tony” Henley left his Orange Beach home for a construction job early one morning, he gave his fiancée, Rene Ann Perez, $100 and told her to get her hair and nails done, “or whatever girls do to make them look pretty,” Henley testified Monday.

When Henley returned with his father and a co-worker for lunch, he found an unfamiliar man in his home and Perez, 25, on the ground, covered with blood and with a cable around her neck, Henley testified.

He pulled off the cable. He felt her still-warm body. He called 911. He performed CPR. He watched her lips turn blue.
