City transfers liquor license, issues warning

The Bay Minette City Council agreed to transfer a liquor license for The Blue Light Inn, but not before issuing a stiff warning to the owner to keep the property clean, cut down on incidents and stop allowing customers to loiter outdoors.

The license for the business on West Hurricane Road was initially in the name of Judy Ann Norman and Charlie Lee Norman, but the owners asked to transfer it to just Judy Ann Norman.

During the work session last week, Mayor Sonny Dobbins said there had been issues brewing at the hangout — located in a residential area — including the amount of debris left behind following each weekend. He said the Police Department also received a high number of calls to the location.
