As Revenue Commissioner Phil Nix butted heads with state and local officials in the past year of property tax turmoil, it’s been with extensive help from a well-known local legal mind — Baldwin County’s district attorney.
Whether debating state Department of Revenue officials who took over Nix’s office, or persuading county commissioners to accept a reorganization plan, or defending county appraisals against lawsuits, District Attorney Judy Newcomb has been in the thick of things.
