Elberta police are looking for a couple who broke into several mobile homes in the Barin Field Road area before being surprised by a resident earlier this week.
One person, described as an older white man with long gray hair, would see if residents were at home, while a woman waited in a car, said Police Chief Gary Peaden.
“They’d pull up to the house and he’d go to the door,” Peaden said. “If someone was home, he’d make up some excuse. If he didn’t get an answer, he’d pry open the door with a screwdriver.”
