July Fourth fun planned

  • Bay Minette : The Bay Minette Rotary Club’s Fourth of July celebration will take place Friday behind Bay Minette Intermediate School. The fireworks will begin about 30 minutes after dusk. Parking will be available all around the school property, organizers said, but Simmons Field will not be open to spectators.
  • Fairhope : The city will host its annual Fourth of July Festival and Fireworks display again this year in Henry George Park and the Fairhope Municipal Pier. The Baldwin Pops Band Independence Day Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Henry George Park on the bluff.Fireworks will begin around 9 p.m. Refreshments will be available.
  • Lillian: The Lillian Community Club, 34148 Widell Ave., will celebrate Independence Day with its 65th annual picnic.
  • Fort Morgan: A Salute to American Independence will kick off the weekend from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday at the fort. There will be guided tours of the nearly 175-year-old brick fort in addition to several firing demonstrations.
  • Gulf Shores: Fireworks will start at 9 p.m. Friday on the main public beach. The fireworks will be visible from any Gulf Shores beach area. Sunny 105.7 will broadcast fireworks information and simultaneous patriotic music during this show. In case of rain, the show will be Saturday.
  • Perdido Beach Resort: Fireworks Gala and Barbecue will take place starting at 6 p.m. Saturday. Tickets for the barbecue and show are $30 for adults, $15 for children under 12 and free to those 4 and under. For information, visit www.perdidobeachresort.com.
  • Orange Beach: Fourth at The Wharf will be celebrated at 8 p.m. Friday at the amphitheater with music and fireworks. Tickets are $7 and children 12 and under get in free. A military ID will get four adults in free. For information, call 224-1000 or visit www.thewharfal.com.
