During Monday’s City Council meeting, Gregg Mims, city planning director, gave an update on recent legislation having local impact.
One bill is significant because it would create a stormwater management authority to govern regulations and control for stormwater runoff from construction sites and other sources throughout the county, instead of on a citywide basis as it is currently done, he said. The bill passed May 31, resulted in a local constitutional amendment, which is to be on the ballot in November 2010 for action by Baldwin County voters, he said.
