Jury reaches decision on sentencing recommendation

One day after finding him guilty of murder, a Baldwin County Circuit Court Jury handed down a prison sentence for Labarron McDonald. Monday, the jury found McDonald guilty of capital murder for the shooting death of Lahshaine Phipps last May.

Tuesday, the jurors recommended McDonald spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole. The judge hearing the case could accept that recommendation, or decide the crime deserves capital punishment, death by lethal injection. The judge will announce his decision at the sentencing hearing which will be held in mid-March.
