A 7-year-old Mobile boy stricken with E. coli was released from a Birmingham hospital Tuesday, while his older brother — also exposed to the bacteria at a church potluck dinner — remained there, a hospital spokeswoman.
Ten-year-old Grant Barber was in fair condition at Children’s Hospital of Alabama, while his brother Jackson was released, according to Kathy Bowers, a spokeswoman for the facility.
The brothers were among at least eight people who sought treatment after getting sick following the Eastern Shore Baptist Church’s 10th annual “Beast Feast,” according to church and health officials.
