Actions taken at February School Board meeting

• Approved the bid for a addition at Orange Beach Elementary to Fairhope-based BES Inc. for $2.1 million, or almost $400,000 below the estimated budget of $2.5 million.
• Heard a presentation from the North Baldwin Coalition for Excellence in Education, a new educational foundation that’s formed in Bay Minette.
• Approved a measure that deems the lead cleanup at Spanish Fort Elementary an “emergency,” which allows the school system to hire crews to rid the campus of lead particles without going through the bid process.
• Approved $3.7 million in maintenance at more than 20 sites through the county, with the money coming from the school system’s capital fund.
• Added Nov. 26 as an off day for the board’s 12-month employees.
• Paid $25,131.30 to the Bay Minette law firm of Stone, Granade and Crosby for January legal services.
