E. Coli cases reported on Eastern Shore

Public health officials are investigating the source of an E. coli outbreak on Baldwin County’s Eastern Shore.

Officials believe those exposed to the bacteria may have attended a cookout at a Daphne church last weekend, according to Diana Brewer, director of marketing and community relations for Infirmary Health System.

An adult and an 11-year-old were released, but another child — also 11 — was still being treated at the hospital as of this afternoon. The child was listed in good condition, Brewer said.
