Neighbor accused of spying on couple is convicted

On Wednesday afternoon, a Baldwin County jury took about two hours to find 25-year-old Tyler Richard Chapman of Robertsdale guilty of attempted criminal surveillance and third-degree burglary.

In court Wednesday, Circuit Judge James H. Reid ordered Chapman held on $10,000 bail and set a sentencing hearing for March 27.

Prosecutors said Chapman climbed into his apartment’s attic, knocked a hole in the common wall, crawled across the insulation and ripped the duct from the ceiling so he could peer into his neighbors’ bathroom.
