Baldwin County is the third government to sign on to an economic development alliance touted as a vehicle to court big industries considering coming to the region.
The commission voted 3-1 Tuesday to adopt a resolution to join the potentially five-county alliance and endorse its incorporation. Similar resolutions were adopted last year by county commissions in Washington and Mobile counties.
On Tuesday, a Mobile County representative along with Alabama Development Office Director Neal Wade described the alliance as a vehicle to facilitate communication between counties and the state officials when the governor’s office is courting big economic deals.
