Construction of the new municipal pool is under way, the second phase of sidewalks should begin soon and the city is waiting on architectural renderings for the new fire department building.
Those and other updates filled the council meeting and work session, held Tuesday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Mayor Sonny Dobbins said the city should begin the bidding process this month for the second phase of its plan to put sidewalks in prominent areas throughout Bay Minette. The cost of the project will be about $300,000, using grant money from the Alabama Department of Transportation and 20 percent in matching funds.
