A Tuesday Baldwin County Commission vote indicates that flood-prone zoning doesn’t have enough support to move forward in its current form, and possibly not at all.
On Tuesday the commission voted 2-2 on whether to seek an attorney general’s opinion on implementing regulations for development in and near low-lying areas. A tie vote results in a motion failing under commission procedures.
After the vote, Commissioners Wayne Gruenloh and Skip Gruber — who voted in favor of seeking the opinion — said they aren’t sure how or if flood-prone zoning regulations might move forward.
Flood-Prone zoning debate continues
