Fairhope council approves Fly Creek project

Approved the site plan review for the Fly Creek project to be situated on the southeast corner of U.S. 98 and Parker Road, across Greeno Road from the so-called Triangle property at the city’s unofficial northern entrance.

While the project’s planned urban development zoning approved last year included room for a large residential development, property owner Arthur Corte has said he is pursuing only the development of the commercial area fronting Greeno.

The project is centered on attracting a tenant for a 54,000-square-foot, big-box-style grocery store. Publix has been mentioned as a possible tenant, but Corte has yet to announce a leaseholder for the store.
