Schools plan notable’ announcement

All indications point to the release of good news for Daphne and Fairhope high schools today.

For more than a year, the two Eastern Shore schools have pursued the elite International Baccalaureate program, and it appears they have received the official go-ahead from the Geneva, Switzerland-based organization to offer the full-fledged program beginning in the fall.

The Baldwin County Public Schools system has called a news conference for 1 p.m. today in the central satellite office in Loxley.
