Allegations that Gulf Shores police officers used excessive force against a drunken car passenger during a traffic stop two years ago are headed to federal court in Mobile.
Allison Young, 43, filed suit in Baldwin County Circuit Court in October against Gulf Shores, Police Chief Arthur Bourne and two officers. A judge transferred the matter last month to U.S. District Court.
A lawyer representing the city said he did not want to comment on the specific allegations because the matter is pending in court, but he stressed that the officers did nothing wrong.
