Fairhope Police use tranquilizer dart to capture bird in supermarket

Fairhope police used one of their top marksman Wednesday afternoon to end an unusual standoff with a predator in a local supermarket.

With a small hawk soaring overhead inside Fairhope’s Winn-Dixie supermarket, store managers called Fairhope Animal Control Officer Jerry Merchant to the scene around noon.
