Foley motorcyclist dies in crash

An early morning collision near the intersection of Baldwin County 20 and Alabama 59 left a Foley teen dead Sunday.

Alexander D. Jones, 19, of Foley crashed his 1989 Yamaha motorcycle into a stationary 1989 Chevrolet van that was waiting to merge into traffic, said Lisa Reeves, a spokeswoman for the Alabama State Troopers.

Jones was taken to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, said Baldwin County Coroner Jim Small. Jones never regained consciousness after the crash, Small said.
