Zoo seeks annexation for new site

The nonprofit board that manages the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo has applied to have the park’s 25-acre future home off Baldwin County 6 annexed into the city.

Just east of Alabama 59, the property sits to the north and east of the apartment complex-turned-condominiums called the Colony Club at Drakes Landing. Aside from the condos, much of the surrounding property is undeveloped.
