Fairhope Police trying to alleviate school traffic

The Fairhope Police Department has made a minor adjustment to the traffic route in front of Fairhope Intermediate School in an attempt to alleviate traffic jams, according a department spokesman.

Police are blocking eastbound traffic from using the Fairhope Avenue entrance to the school, restricting any left turns onto the campus, according to Cpl. Craig Sawyer, spokesman for the Police Department.

The change will be effective from 7:15 to 7:50 a.m. and 2:30 to 3:10 p.m. weekdays, the peak drop-off and pick-up times, police said.
