Summerdale changes police coverage area

On July 9, the Summerdale Police Department informed the Baldwin County Sheriff of plans to shrink Summerdale’s police protection back to their city limits. When that happens, it’s going to mean folks living up to three miles outside those limits will have to rely on the Sheriff’s department for police services.

Problem is, Baldwin County Sheriff Huey “Hoss” Mack says Summerdale’s officials did not give the 911 call center enough time to make the necessary changes in their computers
